I’m sure I’m not the only Maxxinista, but I need to shout out my little “secret” for ladies who love shoes!
I use a wheelchair, but I’m still a woman that loves shoes! When, I was first discharged from rehab, I took a trip to a few of the shoe stores that my docs recommended and found shoes that were hideous. Bad move! I understood the importance of wearing shoes that did not cause discomfort because I can’t feel the discomfort. And for me, feet aches could lead to serious problems like pressure sores or ingrown nails.
After quickly realizing that brown, leather clogs didn’t go with everything, I decided to do some retail therapy at my favorite place to shop – T.J. Maxx! I could be the poster-child for them and their appeal to chic women on wheels.
They have a great assortment of quality flats, wedges, and kitten heels — the types of shoes that a stylish wheeler can appreciate.
Here are a few of my faves:
These canary flats are from Etienne Aigner and have a discreet, perforated monogram over the entire shoe. They are flexible enough to not bruise my feet and very lightweight (a plus when I need to lift my legs).
Check out the floral, fun wedges! I rocked these peep-toe beauties by Rampage at a wedding with a hot pink cocktail dress! I can’t wear them for any extended period of time though because the material is rigid and my ankles will turn eventually. But aren’t they flirty fun?
For errand-running, these shoes are perfecto! The mesh material on my Merrell kicks are great for feet that don’t move. And the zippers are perfect for the dexterity-challenge! #winning
